How to Put Sand in a Crawl Space

Crawl spaces are areas under a house that are used for storage or to allow access to the pipes that run under the house. This absorbs moisture and cuts down on the humidity.

Remove any trash or debris in the crawl space.

Scoop up the sand with the shovel.

Pour the sand in piles about 1/2 to 1 foot high every 5 to 6 feet in the crawl space.

Brush the sand around the crawl space to create an even coat of sand all over the floor. Add more sand if needed. The sand coating should be about 1 to 2 inches thick.
